About us
About Sanad
In Islamic scholarship, a sanad is the chain of narrators that carries a report back to its source. A hadith is only as strong as its sanad. We think news should work the same way.
Sanad is an independent news site for Muslims everywhere — and for anyone who wants to understand Muslim communities better. We cover:
- World and regional news — the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America and Oceania.
- Humanitarian coverage — Yemen, Sudan, Palestine, Ukraine and every crisis where people need help, with clear ways to support verified relief.
- Dawah and community — open-mosque days, reverts’ stories, local organisations and the events that bring us together.
- Youth and social — the creators, campus movements and online conversations young Muslims are part of.
- Good news — because generosity, faith and progress are news too.
Our promise
Every story on Sanad ends with its own sanad: the sources we relied on, linked wherever possible. We separate reporting from opinion, we correct mistakes openly, and we never publish rumours as fact. Read our full editorial standards.
Who we are
Sanad is founded and edited by an independent team. Contact the editor at the address on our contact page.
Support and advertising
Sanad is free to read and supported by advertising. We block ads for alcohol, gambling, dating and other content that conflicts with our values. Businesses and charities that share our audience can advertise directly.
